Patricia L. Peterson has extensive legal and legislative experience obtained from years practicing law in some of Minnesota's most prestigious law firms and positions of authority and influence at the Minnesota Department of Commerce.

As a former Director of Registration and General Counsel for the Department of Commerce, Ms. Peterson was responsible for drafting legislation, lobbying elected officials and advising Department staff. She also worked with industry groups to craft both rules and legislation in the areas of securities, insurance and the Minnesota Petrofund.

Since leaving the Department, Ms. Peterson has assisted private sector businesses in navigating through the complex world of regulatory compliance. In 2012, she retired from the active practice of law but retains her lobbying and regulatory practice.
